Auto Attendant is a sophisticated service for controlling departmental routing within your organisation. It is possible to welcome a caller, offer them various options (key 1 for sales, 2 for customer service etc.), route the caller to the designated option and allow the caller to leave a voicemail message where no-one is available or all lines are busy. All of this is configurable by time of day and day of week and voicemail messages are sent immediately to your designated email address as wav attachments.

On receipt of a call, the first thing the service does is to look at the normal hours settings. If the time is valid - i.e. a normal working day / hour - then the call will be routed to the selected department. The service is more powerful when combined with our hunt group option so if the selected department is busy or unavailable the system can try another department, and so on until the call is answered. If a call is received outside normal business hours, the call can be diverted to the departments voicemail facility. If an attempt to route the call to the selected department fails due to line busy or no reply, the call will also be diverted to voice mail. A key benefit of this solution is that you have total control of your routing plan via our web interface so urgent or planned routing changes can be made by you instantly.
